Securities Laws, How to do an IPO
There are five commissioners on the SEC commission, appointed by the US presidents with the advice of the Senate. Terms on the SEC commission last five years, and are varied so that one commissioner’s term will conclude during the middle of the year, while the next will end at the end of the year. No more than 3 commissioners can belong to the same political party or affiliation so that the commission remains non-biased. The President designates a Chairman of the SEC.
